Hoa Phat Group, the largest steel maker in the country, exported 240,000 tonnes of steel last year, a year-on-year increase of 50.97 per cent, the group said on January 7.
Hoa Phat Group has posted revenue and post-tax profit gains of VND27.6 trillion (US$1.18 billion) and VND4.4 trillion in the first half of the year, up 30 per cent and 27 per cent year-on-year.
Building steel output in July reached 613,000 tonnes, posting 51.5 per
cent increase over the same period last year and marking the record high
in the past 10 years, said the Viet Nam Steel Association.
